This remarkable Formula 5000 car (chassis number 008) is steeped in racing history, having began its life in the early 1970s. It finished second in the 1976 Australian Hillclimb Championship and sixth in the 1979 Australian Grand Prix.


This McLaren M18 Gardos OR2 has been completely rebuilt over the last 15 years and has completed only three race meetings since its restoration. It remains in excellent condition.


An extensive amount of time, effort and materials have been used to keep this wonderful, classic machine in race-ready condition.


Currently powered by a General Motors Holden Engine, this iconic F5000 racer has previously run Chevrolet and Repco Holden engines. It includes Lucas fuel injection system and a Hewland gearbox.
